Our mission is to mobilise botanic gardens and engage partners in securing plant diversity for the well-being of people and the planet.
The Herbarium under the name BGIR is being developed to serve as a national repository of threatened plants of the country. It also houses specimens of representative plant elements of the National Capital Territory region and BGIR. The herbarium would be part of the laboratory complex that will provide the necessary infrastructural facilities for conservation research.
