Herbarium

The herbarium of Arid Zone Circle known by its acronym – BSJO is one of the important centres for taxonomic and floristic research in North-west India and is recognized by the Jai Narayan Vyas University, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) and Andhra University, Waltair (A.P.) for conducting research leading to the award of Ph. D. Degree. Presently, it houses ca 24,750 accessioned specimens including 17 types. These specimens have been arranged following Bentham and Hooker’s system of classification.
