The State of Rajasthan includes 32 districts and Gujarat 25 districts. Since the inception of the Circle, the scientists have undertaken about 243 intensive and extensive botanical exploration tours (204 in Rajasthan and about 39 in Gujarat). As a result of these exhaustive exploration tours, ca 75% of Rajasthan and 30% of Gujarat are well explored. About 20% districts of Gujarat are underexplored. Further, 50% districts of Gujarat are yet to be explored. The State wise explorations and status of survey is shown in the table and map. The exploration surveys carried out by this Circle have resulted in collection of ca 24810 Field numbers.
