Seminar/Workshop/Training Organised:
· A five day training program on basics of plant identification and nomenclature was organised at Botanical survey of India, Eastern regional Centre, Shillong with the aim to spread knowledge and awareness in the field of plant taxonomy. A total of 29 participants from various institutes like North Eastern Hill University, Shillong; BRDC, Shillong; Mizoram University, Guwahati University, NERIST, Itanagar; GBPNHESD, Itanagar; NERIE NCRT, Barapani, FEED, Manipur; BNMU; Bihar along with our own students participated in this program.A number of lectures were delivered by all the scientists of BSI/ERC/Shillong.
· National Seminar on Himalayan Plant Diversity Taxonomy, Conservation and Sustainable Utilization organized by Botanical Survey of India, Eastern Regional in collaboration with North Eastern Hill University and East Himalayan Society for Spermatophyte Taxonomy w.e.f. 8th to 9th March, 2018. A total of 200 participants from all over India from various institutes participated in the program. A number of lectures were delivered by all the invites, scientists, Research scholars.
· Botanical art workshop was organised by Botanical Survey of India, Eastern Regional Centre, Shillong w.e.f 12 to 24th March, 2018. 16 participants from all the regional centres of BSI (SRC, DRC, WRC, CNH, Headquarters, Kolkata, NRC, Gauhati University) along with local participants and two resource persons Shri Mahaveer Swami(National Awardee), Bikaner, Rajashtan; Shri Anurag Swami. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. V.T. Darlong, Vice Chanchellor, Martin Luther Christain University, Shillong and on 23rd and 24th the paintings were exhibited at Mega gallery, Shillong.
· International Symposium on Plant Taxonomy and Ethnobotany organized at BSI, Kolkata, w.e.f. 13-14 Feb. 2020. Around 500 researchers from 33 Universities, 15 Institutions and 56 Colleges from various parts of India and 10 subject experts from 5 countries attended the symposium.

COMPLETED PROJECTS:
1. Completed an Annual action plan project titled “Floristic diversity of Great Indian Bustard Wildlife Sanctuary, Maharashtra” during 2010-2013. A total of 434 plant species were documented from this semi-arid grassland habitat.
2. Completed an Annual action plan project titled “Floristic diversity of BRT Wildlife Sanctuary (Tiger Reserve), Karnataka” during 2013-2018. A total of 1350 plant species were documented. Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Makino (Cucurbitaceae) and Habenaria sahyadrica K.M.P.Kumar, Nirmesh, V.B.Sreek. & Kumar (Orchidaceae) collected from this sanctuary formed new distributional records for Karnataka. Vanilla walkerae Wight, an orchid species was rediscovered after a lapse of 110 years. Xenikophyton Garay, an endemic orchid genus of peninsular India, after critical study was merged under the genus Schoenorchis Reinw. ex Blume.

COMPLETED PROJECTS:
1. An assessment of Orchid diversity of Central Western Ghats: Goa (2015-2017): A total 68 species of orchids were documented. Eighteen species were reported as a new record for the state.
2. Studies on the Orchids of Maharashtra with ecological aspects, population status of endemics and GIS mapping (2012-2015): A total 103 species of orchids were documented. A total 38 species were assessed as threatened for Maharashtra.
